About Me

Welcome! I am a dedicated educator at CSU Channel Islands in the chemistry department. I grew up in California. From an early age I knew that there were many injustices, inequities and many other wrongs in this world. I was inspired as a young child to do my best to make this world a better place. I am fortunate to have found my way to CSUCI. In Ventura County, I work on community projects with my students. Together, we support each other on the journey to gain new knowledge and make the world a better place. These projects have positively impacted the lives of many students at CSUCI and individuals in the local community. Students have gained insight on how science can be used as a tool to improve our community. I envision graduates of CSUCI to not only receive a high-quality education, but also learn how to apply those skills as community leaders. Being an educator is more than just teaching for me, it is about fulfilling a need in our community and I am proud to do that as a CSUCI faculty.
